Join Team Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona as we prepare for the P.F. Chang's Marathon and 1/2 Marathon. Each individual participant will fundraise to help us further our mission - helping children realize their potential through professionally supported one-to-one mentor relationships.
To be part of the Marathon for Kids’ Sake Team, you must commit to a set fundraising minimum - $1,200 for each participant or $1,500 for a matched pair (Big and Little). 25% of your fundraising goal will cover the costs of your training and race weekend expenses and the additional 75% will be a direct donation to our agency.
How the Program Works:
--At the time of registration, we will charge a $100 non-refundable registration fee. The registration fee will get you started in our training program and allow you to set-up your personal fundraising webpage.
--On November 10th, 2008 (10 weeks before the event) you will be asked to recommit to the program. By recommitting, you are promising to make your fundraising goal.
--If you choose to recommit but have not reached your goal by January 2nd, 2009 (2 weeks before the event), we will charge you for the difference between what you've actually raised and your fundraising minimum.
--You have until February 18th, 2009 (30 days after the event) to continue on with your fundraising campaign. If you make up the amount that you were charged you will be reimbursed at that time.
To Show our Appreciation:
For your registration fee, you will receive several Marathon for Kids’ Sake items, including:
--MFKS T-shirt
--Participation in weekly training runs led by a certified fitness coach
--Fundraising support and incentive prizes
--A motivating group of teammates
In addition, all participants who raise the minimum fundraising amount will receive the following:
--Registration into the event
--MFKS Race Jersey
--Pre-Marathon Pasta Party
--Start and Finish line support on Race day
